What are your Priorities?
A time management guru was speaking to a group of type "A" personalities. He placed a wide-mouth gallon jar on the table in front of him. Next to the jar was a collection of fist-sized rocks. He carefully filled the jar with the big rocks, until he could fit no more.
He asked the group, "Is the jar full?"
Everyone responded, "Yes."
He then pulled a large bowl of gravel from under the table and proceeded to pour the gravel into the jar. The gravel fit into the spaces between the rocks. He again queried, "Is the jar full?"
"Probably not," was the group's reply.
He reached for another bowl, this one filled with sand. He dumped the sand into the jar. The sand filled the spaces not taken by the rocks and the gravel. Once more, he asked, "Is the jar full?"
"No," everyone agreed.
Finally, he reached for a pitcher of water and poured water into the jar until it was filled to the top. The time management guru looked at the group and asked, "What is the point of my illustration?"
One man replied, "That no matter how full your schedule is, you can always fit one more thing into it."
"No!" the guru responded.
The point of this illustration is, "If you don't put the big rocks in first, you'll never get them in at all!"
The moral of the story is: Get the important things figured out first, then fit everything else in around them. In other words, know what your priorities are.

पानी रे पानी तेरा रंग कैसा...। जीवनदायक पानी की महत्ता कवियों, दार्शनिकों ने अपने-अपने अंदाज में बयान की है। जीवन के लिए जल अनमोल है। इसका कोई मोल नहीं है लेकिन यह मात्र कोई कथन नहीं बल्कि सच्चाई है। पर्याप्त पानी पीना स्वास्थ्य के लिए बेहद जरूरी होता है।
यह न सिर्फ शरीर के विषैले तत्व बाहर निकालता है बल्कि त्वचा, पेट और किडनी को कई गंभीर बीमारियों से दूर रखता है। पानी की मात्रा कम होने से बहुत सारी बीमारियां शरीर को जकड़ लेती हैं। पानी कम पीने से डिहाइड्रेशन की समस्या तक हो सकती है।
पानी जहाँ शरीर की बहुत सारी बीमारियों से बचाता है, वहीं पर्याप्त मात्रा में पानी पीने के बहुत से फायदे भी हैं। वजन घटाने का सबसे आसान तरीका भी पानी ही है। शरीर के अतिरिक्त वसा को सिर्फ पानी की मात्रा को बढ़ाकर भी खत्म किया जा सकता है। पानी में कैलोरी, वसा, शुगर या कार्बोहाइड्रेट नहीं होता। यह उच्च कैलोरी वाले ड्रिंक्स जैसे सोडा, अल्कोहल और जूस की पीने की इच्छा को भी घटाता है।
शरीर में पानी की पर्याप्त मात्रा से दिल का दौरा पड़ने का खतरा भी घटता है। पानी काफी ऊर्जा प्रदान करता है। पानी की कमी से डिहाइड्रेशन का खतरा काफी बढ़ जाता है। जब शरीर में ऊर्जा कम हो जाती है तो थकावट महसूस होने लगती है। अकसर पानी की कमी से गला सूखने लगता है और लोगों को चक्कर भी आने लगते हैं। थकान से लोगों को मांसपेशियां में कमजोरी महसूस होती है।
